REVARP is a classic platformer. It’s like a logical maze in a closed universe, where every move you make can either be an escape or a trap. You play as a “Square Hero”—a square character trapped in a closed world, where each level is a new challenge with its own structure, color, and physical rules.
The highlight of the game is the ability to create a portal—a function rarely seen in traditional 2D pixel games. When you press the Z key, the character creates a “root portal.” You can then continue moving, overcome obstacles, or go into a dead end. But when you press the Z key again, you will immediately return to the original portal location—a clever action reversal, almost like playing chess in space.
REVARP does not repeat. Each screen is a separate "grammar system" where you have to learn how to read—from the location of the key and the exit to the shape of the obstacle. There are levels that use reverse gravity; some require you to use the portal repeatedly in a combo chain.
The special thing here is that REVARP does not explain the rules in detail, forcing you to learn by yourself through trial and error. This makes the experience both annoying and addictive.
REVARP is a unique click-portal platformer that combines spatial navigation, logic puzzles, and time-travel manipulation. It is not just a matter of “getting from point A to B,” but requires players to create both a path and a return path, a type of inherent creativity that is rare in the indie world.
