About Switchblade

Switchblade puts you in the role of a spirited sword handle on a journey to collect the fragments of the legendary Fireblade. The graphics are retro, but the physics are extremely modern: each mouse swing is not just an event but a dynamic interaction. Stance, momentum, slider support... all contribute to the feeling of "a breathing sword." Play Switchblade now.

What's new in Switchblade?

Hilt Dynamics

The relationship between the direction of the pull and the center of gravity of the handle is extremely precise: players can see the handle vibrate, slightly deviate if they pull too fast, making the swing more realistic.

Static Force Modulation

The same force is not always applied: if you pull lightly, the handle will be strong enough to climb the high wall; pull harder and the handle will bounce, like a tactical rebound to avoid falling into the gap.

Evolution-Linked Progression

Each Fireblade fragment you collect not only changes the shape of your weapon it also tweaks the physics. For example:

  • The third fragment you collect increases the “stickiness” of your weapon to the edge of a wall.
  • The seventh fragment reduces the amount of rebound after a swing.

This is a dynamic evolution that makes every path unique.

Environment Echo Feedback

When the blade hits surfaces stone, wood, or metal the echo will change depending on the material, giving you a clear sense of the position, depth, and texture of the material you are touching even if you can’t see it.

How to play Switchblade

You play as a “sword-wielding warrior”

  • Static tactics: Stop in mid-air, observe the path, then swing for a precise climb.
  • Deceleration momentum: Sometimes not swinging but shaking slightly is a way to adjust momentum, avoiding sliding down the cliff when applying too much force.
  • Multi-directional swing: Not only up and right, diagonal swings help to grab small gaps or break away to prevent sliding crookedly.

Flexible controls on PC

  • Mouse movement: Adjust the swing direction of the sword handle.
  • Drag the mouse away: Increase the swing force, creating strong momentum to jump farther.
  • Short and light mouse drag: Move precisely to climb narrow surfaces.
  • Continuous light mouse shake: Continuous light mouse shake
  • Circle mouse movement: Create rotational motion around the axis to grab objects.

Switchblade is a delicate test of patience, precision, and mastery of movement in a world where every mouse swing can determine success or failure. Behind the minimalist graphics is an incredibly intelligent physics system, where every mistake has a reason and every success is worth it. Are you ready to join Switchblade now?
